Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) is located in the south of Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory, Australia. Maguk, also known as Barramundi Gorge, with waterfall and plunge pool. Maguk is one of the only waterfalls in Kakadu that flows while there is no rain. Towards the end of the dry season however, the flow is much lower.

    Walk to paradise!
Hike through monsoon forest and along a sandy and rocky creek to a small waterfall and large, clear plunge pool. The pool is surrounded by escarpments, adding to the delightfully secluded sensation. Enjoy your surroundings while having a picnic lunch, and don’t forget to take plenty of water. Wildlife As you walk listen to the friar birds, stop along the way and look out for the elusive rainbow pitta. Take goggles and a snorkel to look beneath the water at the array of freshwater fish swimming around in the plunge pool.

    Swimming at Maguk
Please becareful as we found ourselves the edge of the bank drops off to deep deep water and it can be rather cold. So read any signs and practice safe swimming practices.
